        Terry Palasz, known for her popular one-woman musical comedy The Polish Diva from Milwaukee, has released her first CD, The Polish Diva’s Polka Party, November 14^th. Toby Hanson, accordionist and bandleader of the Smilin’ Scandinavians, produced and arranged the 15 diverse tunes and performs along with 8 other superb musicians. Terry, a trained soprano, singer-actress, and great admirer of the polka genre, says: “When I’ve performed my show around the country, many people seemed to appreciate that I was a soprano who also happened to sing polka and wanted me to record some of their beloved songs. After listening to dozens of recordings—from Marisha Data and L’il Wally, to Whoopee John, the Dynatones and Frank Yankovic, Toby and I chose songs to reflect the tastes of polka fans around the country. My goal was to celebrate the beautiful melodies and lyrics of these great polka songs, and pay homage to the great polka bands of past and present.” They call her “The Jane Powell of Polka”.
